Hushtype Data Safety
Effective 31 October 2026
This page lists every kind of data Hushtype for iPhone handles, who can receive it and why. It matches the App Privacy answers on the App Store. The privacy policy has the full detail.
The short version
- Hushtype has no account, no Hushtype server, no analytics, no ads and no tracking.
- What you type is processed on your phone and is never sent to the developer.
- The only data collected is what a purchase needs, and it is not linked to your identity.
Data collected
RevenueCat, the payment service, receives these so the app can tell whether you have Pro. Each one is used for app functionality only, is not linked to your identity and is not used for tracking.
- Purchase history: which plan you have, when it started, when it renews or ends, and whether it was a trial or refunded.
- User ID: a random id RevenueCat makes for this install. It is not your name, email or Apple ID.
- Device ID: the per-app device id iOS gives every app from the same developer (identifierForVendor), sent with the device model, iOS version, app version, language and store country.
Data not collected
Hushtype does not collect what you type, your history, learned words, voice, contacts, location, browsing, health or financial information, or usage statistics. Apple handles payment, so your card details never reach the app.
When something leaves your phone
- Your own AI key (optional, Pro). Only if you connect your own OpenAI, Anthropic or Google Gemini account, turn Offline only off and allow Full Access. The text an action runs on, its instructions and your key go straight from your phone to that company, and its own privacy policy applies. Every result from it carries a cloud mark.
- Model downloads. A Hushtype model comes from Hugging Face. None of your text is sent, and the host sees your IP address while it serves the file.
- Language packs. iOS downloads these from Apple.
- Crash reports. They stay on your phone unless you choose to share one. If you turned on Share With App Developers in iOS, Apple may share crash data under its own policy.
How data is protected
- Network connections use HTTPS.
- Your AI key is stored in the iOS Keychain on this phone only and is not synced to iCloud Keychain.
- History, learned words, recent emoji, voice transcripts and crash reports are excluded from iCloud and computer backups.
- Password fields and other secure fields never run AI.
Deleting your data
There is no Hushtype account to delete. You can erase your history and learned words on the Privacy screen in the Hushtype app, and deleting the app removes everything it keeps on your phone. To ask about the purchase record RevenueCat keeps, write to [email protected].
Android
This page covers the iPhone app. It will be updated when Hushtype comes to Android.
