PhotoRelay Privacy Policy

PhotoRelay is made by Abdullah Emroze. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use PhotoRelay.
The short version
PhotoRelay has no account and no servers. Your photos, videos and credentials never reach us. There is no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
Your photos and videos
PhotoRelay reads the photos and videos you choose, on your device, and sends them to the destinations you set up. Those destinations are yours: your computer, your NAS, your cloud storage account, or another device running PhotoRelay. Transfers go directly from your device to them.
We never receive your files, and we cannot see what you transfer or where you send it. What happens to files after they arrive is governed by the policy of the service or the device that holds them.
Server details and passwords
Addresses, usernames, passwords, keys and tokens for your destinations are stored in your device’s secure storage, the keychain. They are used only to connect to the servers you set up, and they are deleted when you remove the destination or uninstall the app.
On your local network
To find other devices, PhotoRelay announces itself on your local network with the device name you choose. When receiving is switched on, it runs a small web server on your device so another device or a browser on your network can send files to it. Both are off unless you turn them on, and neither reaches the internet.
Transfer history
A record of what has been sent, and to where, is kept on your device so that repeat transfers can skip files already sent. It stays on the device.
Permissions
PhotoRelay asks for access to your photo library so it can transfer your photos and videos, and for local network access so it can find your devices and servers. On Mac, full disk access is optional and only needed to read or write folders outside your home folder.
Children
PhotoRelay is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
